  • www.hsfmo.org  Must have a 3.5+ GPA, a 23+ ACT, attending a 4-year university, work 240 hours in the 12 months prior to fall 2017, EFC must be less than $7,500
  • www.studentscholarships.org/newsletter.php 10 scholarships are available.  Each has its own deadline and criteria~ some of these are open to underclassmen as well.

  • Amount: 1-$500 scholarship per school
  • Criteria: seeking a business-related degree

Central Ohio Farmers Co-op, Tom Bostic Scholarship

  • Deadline: March 24, 2017
  • Criteria: majoring in an ag-related field

The John Q. Shunk Association Scholarship

  • Deadline: due to Mrs. Heinlen by March 27, 2017

North Central Ohio Outreach Alliance Scholarship

  • Deadline: application must be received by March 29, 2017
  • Amount: 4-$1,000 
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for application

Ohio Mutual Insurance Group Academic Achievement Award

  • Deadline: March 31, 2017
  • Amount: 1-$2,500
  • Criteria: preference will be given to a student pursuing a 4-year business related degree, the student must excel academically and be involved in school and community activities

The Community Foundation for Crawford County Scholarships

  • Deadline: April 2, 2017
  • Criteria: please visit the website- there are many scholarships available with set criteria
  • Procedure: apply on-line at www.cfcrawford.org

Bucyrus Kiwanis Club Academic & Technical Scholarships

  • Deadline: April 5, 2017, to Mrs. Heinlen
  • Amount: 1- $1,500 academic scholarship and 1- $1,500 technical scholarship
  • Criteria: considerations will be given to academic standing, character, personality, leadership, co-curricular activities, and financial need will be considered

The Bucyrus Community Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 5, 2017, to Mrs. Heinlen
  • Amount: 1-$1,000 (may be renewed)  A separate scholarship is being offered to students in graduate school for medical/dental/allied health professions
  • Criteria: entering a medical/dental/allied health field, financial need 
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for an application

The William D. Squires Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 5, 2017 (window opens February 15, 2017)
  • Amount: 15- $3,000 scholarships in Ohio (this is renewable all 4 years)
  • Criteria: 3.2+ GPA, EFC less than $8,000, highly motivated, good character, and know your career goal
  • Procedure: apply online beginning February 15th www.wmdsquiresfoundation.org

First Federal Community Bank Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 2- $500 (renewable up to 4 years)
  • Criteria: applicant or parents must be a customer at First Federal Community Bank

Coach Jim & Donna Bauer Scholar-Athlete Award

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Criteria: 2.75+ GPA, an athlete~ preference given to a basketball player, must be involved in school & community activities

The Angene Memorial Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 1- $750
  • Criteria: awarded to a senior that has overcome an adversity while in high school
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for application

The Athletic Boosters Memorial Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 2- $1,000 (one male and one female)
  • Criteria: open to all student- athletes at Wynford that have not had any discipline issues in high school

The Milton Harmon Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Criteria: currently live in the former Mt. Zion school district and majoring in education
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for application

The Barb Levering Memorial Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 1- $400 
  • Criteria: going into a helping profession
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for application

The Lt. J.G. Donald Richard Powers Memorial Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 1- $1,000
  • Criteria: strong academic achievement in college prep courses, involved in extracurricular and community activities

Wynford Academic Boosters Scholarship

  • Deadline: April 7, 2017
  • Amount: 5- $500 
  • Criteria: must have a 3.0+ GPA and attending a 2 or 4 year college

Avita Health Foundation Allied Health Scholarship

  • Deadline: received by April 10, 2017
  • Amount: 1-$1,500  2-$1,000  2-$750
  • Criteria: must be entering an allied health field

Warpole Chapter #336- Order of the Eastern Star Upper Sandusky Scholarship

  • Deadline: received by April 15, 2017
  • Amount: $250
  • Procedure: see Mrs. Heinlen for an application

Altrusa Club of Bucyrus Scholarship

  • Deadline: postmarked by April 21, 2017
  • Amount: 2-$500
  • Criteria: selection will be based on academic standing, character, letter of reference, quality of questionnaire, extracurricular activities and community activities

Be the Change Scholarship

  • This is sponsored by Mechanics Bank and is open to all students at least 13 years of age.  Student must open a checking account, complete 20 hours of community service, complete 5 online financial literacy modules and submit a video for consideration

Wyandot County Pheasants Forever Scholarship

  • Deadline: student must submit application by April 1, 2017
  • Criteria: must be a Wyandot County resident, pursuing a career in Natural Resources
  • Amount: 3- $500

Wyandot County 4-H, Courtright, Indian Mill Antique Association and the Ivan & Doris Schoenberger Scholarship

  • Deadline: due to extension office April 1, 2017
  • Criteria: must have been a member of the Wyandot County 4-H program for the previous 3 years

Class of 2017

  • You should begin receiving aid packages- look at them closely and compare all that you receive. 
  • Check your email often to see any messages from colleges & respond/share with parents as needed
Class of 2018
  • Now is the time to begin visiting colleges.
  • All juniors will take the ACT March 21, 2017, at Wynford High School (even our juniors attending Pioneer).  You will NOT register for this~ we will register all of you!
  • Any junior girl interested in attending Buckeye Girls State (June 11-17, 2017 at University of Mount Union) please let me know.
Class of 2019
  • It's not too late to apply to Pioneer!  You will not be in the initial mix of applicants, but you can still apply.
  • March 30, 2017, I will have the acceptance letters for the students that applied to Pioneer- I will pass them out during study hall.

Class of 2020

 

Important Dates

  • Current sophomore and junior students whose parents are members and live in the North Central Electric Cooperative may apply for Youth Tour 2017 (a week-long trip to Washington D.C.)  the application can be found at www.ncelec.org.
  • March 16th~ We will be hosting a "What to Expect Your Senior Year" event with current senior parents giving pointers they have picked up this year.  This is open to all of our juniors and their parents.

TESTING DATES

  • March 21- ACT for juniors
  • March 28 & 30- ELA I and ELA II (freshman and sophomores)
  • April 24 & 25- algebra and geometry 
  • April 26 & 27- biology
  • April 28- 10th-grade American History & government 

COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS

  • You and your parents MUST sign an intent form by April 1~ this does not obligate you to take the classes, it only states that you are interested.  I passed letters out to interested students when I discussed scheduling.  IF the form is lost or one was not picked up, please stop by my office to get one.
  • You MUST apply to the college that you are intending to take classes with.  Each university has its own deadline and it is YOUR responsibility to meet each deadline.  
    • North Central State College- must have a 21 on the ACT Reading or ACCUPLACER Reading score of 80.  Deadline for Fall is May 1.  Apply online at www.ncstatecollege.edu/ccp
    • Marion Technical College- Deadline for fall is May 15
    • The Ohio State University- must have an 18 on English ACT, as well as a 22 on both the Math and the Reading ACT (scores need to be sent directly to OSU).  Deadline for fall is May 1.  Apply online for either Marion or Mansfield campus.
    • The University of Findlay- must have a 2.5+ GPA and a 20 ACT composite (Chemistry will also require taking the ACCUPLACER).  Deadline for fall is April 1.
  • All universities mentioned above are being firm with deadlines this year.  Do not wait until the last minute to apply.
  • If you are planning to take summer classes, check each university's website for the summer deadline.

Planning to participate in sports in college?  You need to register with the NCAA (https://web3.ncaa.org/ecwr3/) or NAIA (https://www.playnaia.org/eligibility-center) Eligibility Centers.
