GUIDANCE MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the School Counseling Program at Wynford Local School is to support the school community by developing and integrating a comprehensive guidance program that will assist students in academic, career, and personal/social programs. This will allow children to develop a positive sense of self and become effective students, responsible citizens and lifelong learners.
As as School Counselor, I perform the following roles in order to promote positive development in academic, career, and personal/social domains:
- Individual Counseling
- Small group counseling
- Classroom guidance (i.e. large group counseling)
- Attend and participate in academic intervention meetings
- Organize and administer building testing
- Observe students in various school environments
- Consult and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, social workers, and students
- Respond to school crisis or emergency situations
- Provide information and resources to parents on a variety of issues
The JH Wynford Local Comphrensive School Counseling Program is an integral part of the primary educational mission of the district. This program supports every child, every dream, everyday. We provide support to all student achievement. We assist students in acquiring and using life long learning skills. We are here to enhance academic skills, encourage self awareness, foster interpersonal communication skills, provide career awareness, develop employment readiness, and impact life skills for all students.
I will have many interactions with your student as I do individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom guidance lessons on various topics throughout the year.
