Great job tonight, Wynford Varsity bowlers who beat Cardington by 91 pins, 2043-1952. Tyler Bindner led the Royals with a two game total of 358. Kobie Naufzinger rolled a 348, Cody Scott had 336, Kaden Dunford rolled a 321, and Brian Schifer rounded out the lineup with a 299. The Royal bowlers are back in action Monday when they will face Tiffin Columbian at Suburban Lanes.

The Royals boys varsity team is now 2-0 after defeating Bucyrus tonight by 283 pins. Brian Schifer led all bowlers with a 205 and 229 for a 434 series. Kobie Naufzinger followed with a 147 and 221 which was a 368 series. Bowling games of 149 and 151 for a series of 300 was Tyler Bindner. Cody Scott bowled games of 171 and 117 for a series of 288 and Dylon Jones bowled a 266 series with games of 135 and 131. The junior varsity bowlers also defeated Bucyrus 1485-1204. The Royals are back in action next Tuesday against Marion Harding at Cooper’s Bowl.

Congratulations to the Wynford boys bowling team who, in their first-ever varsity match beat Galion tonight with a total pin count of 1963. Galion rolled an 1882. Tyler Bindner led the way with a 342. Dylon Jones rolled a 325, Cody Scott had a 300, Kobie Naufzinger a 293, and Brian Schifer shot a 255. The boys will be back in action on Monday with a match against Gilead Christian.

Wynford Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremony The graduation ceremony will be broadcast on WQEL and will also be able to be viewed via Facebook Live on the Wynford Royals Facebook page. The ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2020 and will begin at approximately 8:45pm.
OHSAA opening summer Athletics. It will look a lot different than the past. Wynford will be providing guidelines for athletes to be on campus. Plans have been approved through the Crawford County Health Department. Once coaches are briefed and any concerns handled; we will post and email guidelines for Wynford athletes before Tuesday, May 26.

This week the Wynford Local Schools technology department will be testing a new notification and alerting system that may make a phone call and/or send a test message to contacts listed for our students. Kaden Dunford placed 7th and Matthew Schiefer placed 9th at the Wynford Invitational as they led the boys cross country team to a 3rd place finish out of 11 teams. The girls cross country also finished 3rd led by Allison lust’s 2nd place finish. Morgan Lambert chipped in with a 14th place finish. A special thanks to Glen Smith and all Wynford supporters in help running a successful invitational.

What a great day to be a Lady Royal! The Wynford Royals Volleyball team showed tremendous character with a win versus Shelby today. After dropping the first two sets, Wynford volleyball rallied from 2-0 down to beat Shelby (21-25, 22-25, 30-28, 25-22, 15-11) Lainey Holman had 20 kills and 16 digs to lead the way to victory. Averi McMillan added 11 kills and 22 assists while matching a team high 16 digs.

The Lady Royals Cross Country team also broke the ice this year in Upper’s opener. The Lady Royals placed 8 of 14. Allison Lust placed 26th in 22:06 and Brianna Hensel placed 35th in 22:26. Our 4th-7th runners competed in their first high school cross country meet today.
Wynford High School Boys Cross Country kicked off the 2019 campaign with a 9 of 18 in Upper Sandusky’s Icebreaker opener. Kaden Dunford finished 33rd in 19:10 and Matthew Schiefer 44th in 19:37.
Elementary drop-off/pickup is in front of the building. For pickup, don't enter lot before 2:35. Students will be released at north end of building after bus riders. Please stay in your car until you see your child. Cars won't leave until buses have gone. Keep safety in mind!

Any 5th-6th graders interested in volleyball, contact Lynsey Trusty. All paperwork will be filled out on the first day. All students should be dropped off in the most northern elementary parking lot; the students should use the sidewalk to walk around the north side of the building and enter the building at the playground entrance by the gym.
Reminder: Junior High Orientation will take place tomorrow evening (August 13th). The 7th grade orientation will take place from 6:30 - 7:30 PM in the HS gym, followed by the 8th grade from 7:30 - 8:30 PM in the HS gym. JH schedules will be handed out at each orientation.
Aden Caldwell led the way with a 44 for the Varsity Wynford Royals boys golf team against Plymouth this morning; unfortunately, the Royals went down in defeat by one stroke. Plymouth 188 our Royals 189.
Wynford boys golf finished fourth (193) out of nine teams at the Buckeye Central Invitational after the second nine holes were rained out. Kayleb Keaton led the way for the Royals with a 44. Good luck at Plymouth tomorrow. Girls golf in action tomorrow at Buckeye Central Invite.
