Mr. Hoffman received the Golden Owl Award
On February 24th, the Ohio FFA held a virtual assembly to announce the top ten “Golden Owl” recipients. Each year students and staff throughout the state of Ohio have the opportunity to nominate an outstanding AG teacher for the year. Out of these nominations, 10 agricultural educators are selected and win $500 dollars for their programs and a plaque to honor them. Wynford FFA Advisor Mike Hoffman was a finalist for this award, but it was not something he knew of. Wynford FFA Advisor Tessa Martin and High School Principal Julie Miller planned an assembly for FFA members to go to, to surprise him with his award. Mike’s wife Beth and daughter Taylor came to the school to present his award, along with the officer team. Mr. Hoffman will now advance to the final round for Ohio Agricultural Educator of the Year where he will have the opportunity to receive the Golden Owl trophy, a check for $3,000, and be named the 2021 AG Instructor of the year for Ohio.
