Nevada Lions Start Transition

Nevada Lions, serving eastern Wyandot and western Crawford counties since 1946, are inviting Wynford Local Schools’ community members to learn about Lions Clubs at informational meetings on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. The informational meeting will begin at 7:00 pm at Wynford High School in the MS/HS media center.

The club is seeking to transition into a Nevada/Wynford Lions Club, with members who are civic minded, creative and enthusiastic. Lions will give a brief presentation on the club and answer questions prospective members may have.

Lions Clubs are the world’s largest volunteer service organization, with 1.4 million members in over 200 nations. Lions have been active in the areas of:  Childhood Cancer, Diabetes, Disaster Relief, Environmental, Hunger, Vision and Youth programming. Although Lions are global, Lions are more importantly local.

The Nevada Lions have been active in the community with vision screenings of youth, providing eye exams and glasses and providing outreach to those in need. At one time, a LEO club was sponsored at Wynford MS/HS and Nevada Lions extended scholarships to WHS graduates. The Lions of District OH2 are seeking to maintain a local presence in the Wynford Local School District, to partner with its existing school affiliated organizations, and provide service and leadership opportunities to those who share an interest in the Lions Causes.

Those WHS students recently graduated, young adults and families are invited to attend and have special membership opportunities explained. Interested adults from any of the villages that make up the Wynford Schools are invited to WHS at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 to know more about Lions Clubs.
