Dawn Schaaf

The next Dutchtown Farmers Market Benefit Meal will be on July 29, 2021.  The benefit will be for Dawn Schaaf. She was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in November 2020 with mild progression to the bones classifying her case as Stage IV. Dawn graduated from Hopewell-Loudon High School in 1997. She is an Intervention Specialist at Wynford Elementary School. Dawn is married to Jacob Schaaf. He graduated from Seneca East in 1995 and grew up between Attica and New Washington. Jake does IT work for Wynford. He is the son of James & Judy Schaaf and brother of Rev. Jarrod (Rev. Sarah) Schaaf and Jaime (Joe) Priess.

Dawn and Jake want to help those around them in need and not just themselves. They want everyone to know that in some way they do have others “in their corner” and that nobody should be afraid to ask for help.

The Benefit Meal on July 29, 2021, will be a bratwurst sandwich, macaroni salad, applesauce, and potato chips. The suggested price of the meal will be $10. Donations will also be accepted. Drinks and Rader’s Vanilla Ice Cream (chocolate, caramel, or strawberry toppings) will be available at an additional cost. If you are unable to attend the Market on July 29, checks may be made out to St. John’s Half Acre (Schaaf on Memo line) and sent to St. John’s, 203 E. Mansfield St, New Washington, OH 44854. All proceeds will be given to Dawn and her family.  Thrivent Action Team money was used to purchase the food for the meals.

The Dutchtown Farmers Market is held at St. John’s every Thursday through September 30.  The weekly vendors (vendors will be there as available) offer a variety of items. Produce will be available at the shelter house.  Selection and prices of produce vary slightly each week depending on availability.

If you wish to be a vendor or have questions, please call 419-934-1616. Insurance or signing a waiver is required. For updated information about the market, check out the Dutchtown Farmers Market Facebook page and our Web Page (dutchtownfarmersmarket.com)
