Welcome WES Community Vegetable Gardens!
Students helped plan, build, fill, and plant the raised beds. They used perimeter, read plant tags and planned the plantings. Some gathered dry grass, sticks, and leaf litter to fill the beds half way. Then, soil was added and students mixed and prepared the soil by breaking up large chunks. Finally, they decided, planted, and caged the tomato plants. They also said we need more tomato cages.
We need help 'Diggin' In', to support summer success of the raised garden beds. Are you, your child, and, or a social or agricultural group looking for a service project, a small commitment with great 'growth'?
Consider volunteering to care for the beds one week, Sunday-Saturday. Your job, water, weed, remove pests, and snap a photo of the garden and sentld it to me. Email ruth.sally@wynfordroyals.org or text 419.561.0390 to sign up or for more information.
