Coach Byrnes tries to set up practices and workouts so that our runners are ready to perform their best at the end of the season. Thanks to the hard work of the athletes, and finally some slightly cooler weather, they were able to peak at the right time. We’re so proud of the kids for showing up and giving it their all in this race.

But schools aren’t to blame. Decades of state tax policy shifted the burden from businesses and the state to homeowners.
📊 In 1991, homeowners and farmers paid 47% of school property taxes. Today, it’s nearly 70%.
📉 Since 2000, state education revenue has declined after inflation.
📊 The Ohio Auditor of State reports that since 2000, state revenues for education have declined after inflation, and per-pupil funding has risen only 6% in 22 years.
🏫 Schools have consolidated, shared services, and stretched every dollar.
The balance is broken. Families deserve relief, and communities need strong schools, safety, and services.
✅ Talk to your legislator. Share this with your neighbors. Real reform must be balanced — and it must protect what matters most.
