The Level Up Program (SPARC READY FOR HIRE Program) is a new young adult program starting at the Bucyrus Public Library. Developed in partnership with the Mid-Ohio Educational Center, the Level Up Program offers young adults (G6-12) the chance to explore and prepare for future careers through exciting STEAM activities and projects. Participants will learn essential skills to help them prepare for careers in cutting-edge fields and will be able to self-direct their learning in order to explore how their future career plans can match their personal passions as well. Among other things, teens will be able to learn how to create digital art and record music using state-of-the-art technology and resources, such as Procreate, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Logic 10 Pro, in the library's new recording and digital art studio. Moreover, participants will have access to Skillshare's more than 25,000 online courses to guide their learning. Teens will also be able to earn a number of different rewards by completing activities and projects as well. Registration for the program starts on October 16, 2023, and the library will host open houses to allow participants--as well as their parents and/or guardians--to experience what the program has to offer. The dates of the Open House events are as follows: October 17, 23, 24 from 4:00-7:00 PM and October 20, 27 from 4:00-5:30 PM. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kolter Kiess, Bucyrus Public Library Youth Services Manager, at 419-562-7327 ext 110 or kkiess@bucyruslibrary.org.

HS Geology students are working on their famous landforms of the Earth project this week. Students have to make a 3D model using the 3D printer or other materials found in the Makerspace. They were also able to "visit" their landform using Virtual Reality technology.
